Gear up in overalls, boots, a miner’s hat and lamp to travel 85 metres underground in a real gold mine and explore the fascinating history of Australia’s richest goldfield. Climb ladders, work a mine drill and search for gold with finder’s keepers. This tour also includes a miner’s lunch served underground in the Crib Room as well as a miner’s rights certificate and cup to take home as a memento.

A visit to the famous Bendigo Pottery (est 1858), Australia’s oldest working pottery and home to a number of heritage-listed beehive kilns, is an experience you can really ‘throw’ yourself into. Create your own clay masterpiece onsite with guidance from an expert potter during the one hour wheel throwing lesson and take your creation home as a memento. There is also an interpretive museum, café and gallery to explore.
