SANTA TRAM was completely booked out!
Santa and his elves came to Bendigo and hid at a secret location from 15 – 24 December. Luckily, the SANTA TRAM knew how to find him. Everyone jumped aboard, had their photo taken with Santa and told him what they would like for Christmas! Click here to find out more about the SANTA TRAM.

It’s been 40 years since Bendigo’s trams ran as public transport April 16 marked the 40th anniversary of the last day that trams ran as public transport in Bendigo. The Bendigo Tramways recognised this historically significant day by running the same tram that did the final trip from Eaglehawk to Bendigo 40 years ago. On Sunday 15 April, Tram No. 26 was decorated in the same manner that it was 40 years ago and the driver, Stephen Kirkpatrick and conductor, Joseph Gould, were dressed in the old State Electricity Commission (SEC) uniforms. The Evolution of a Gold Rush City: Friday 27 April 2012 As part of the National Trust's Innovation and Invention Heritage Festival, The Bendigo Trust is proud to present 'The Evolution of a Gold Rush City' Bendigo's gold rush origin is well documented, but it is not only mining history that has shaped the flourishing place that Bendigo is today. Join us for a journey of discovery at the Central Deborah Gold Mine, Bendigo Tramways and the Bendigo Joss House Temple. The tour includes a line-up of expert speakers who will reveal the stories of innovation and invention that played a part in shaping the evolution of a gold rush city. Lunch is included.

Depot and Workshop Reopening: Sunday 11 December 2011 After extensive renovations the Bendigo Tramways Depot and Workshop is reopening! Ever wondered what goes on at the Depot and Workshop? … here’s your chance to find out! The reopening also coincides with the 39th anniversary of Vintage ‘Talking’ Trams in Bendigo and we will be celebrating with FREE Depot Tours, HALF PRICE Tram Tours, Face Painting, Balloon Art, Pipe Band and a BBQ. Victorian Seniors Festival: 2-9 October 2011 In celebration of the 2011 Victorian Seniors Festival, Bendigo Tramways is offering 50% off the ticket price of a Vintage 'Talking' Tram Tour for all Seniors Card holders. Bendigo Trust Wins Tram Job Bendigo Tramways will play a major role in maintaining Melbourne’s iconic W-class trams. Bendigo Tramways is gearing up to take delivery of the second W-class tram as part of an $8 million restoration program. Minister for Public Transport Terry Mulder said the program would run over four years and the ongoing maintenance work was great for Bendigo. Find out more...

Bendigo Tramways supplies two trams to the brand new Auckland Waterfront Tourist Tramway Both trams are expected to spend at least five years in service on this new tram system, however, before being sent off, both trams were serviced and restored into mint condition in the Bendigo tram workshop.
