#17 received a body overhaul and was transported to Ballarat for a few weeks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of electric trams in Ballarat. On return to Bendigo the tram was available for traffic.
#18 returned from Ballarat.
#21 received a truck overhaul and repainted in a more accurate representation of the SECV 1930s livery.
#35 repainted as "Bendigo Bank" corporate tram.
#44 trucks and flooring dismantled for overhaul.

April 2003 - celebrations for the 100th anniversary of electric operation of trams at Bendigo. This was marked by the gathering of all 7 remaining birney trams in Australia at Bendigo as well as a visit by HTT #8 (ex-ESCV/SECV #3).

Restoration of ESCV #8 began.
#17 received a truck overhaul and re-wheel to enable it to participate in the Moomba parade in Melbourne. The seats were removed from the tram to enable a percussion band to perform on the tram during the parade. On return from Melbourne the tram was placed in storage pending a body overhaul.
#18 painted gold to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the discovery of gold in Victoria. Renumbered 45 and leased to the Ballarat Tram Museum.
#470 converted to a modified W1/BCC design and repainted as the "RACV" corporate tram. Allocated road number 35. |

Restoration of Sandhurst and Eaglehawk Tramway Company battery tram #3 began.
#976 issued to traffic as the Cafe Tram.
2000 - the body of ESCV #6 was modified and restored for display at the Central Deborah Gold Mine Visitor Reception.
2000 - car #421 converted to the W1 design and repainted as the "Rivers" corporate tram. The tram was renumbered 31 and issued to traffic.

Work ceased on the modification of the remaining one-man ESCV cars. All six cars were scrapped by the end of 1947.
With the scrapping of #15, the Golden Square to North Bendigo route was again short of one-man cars, so California combination car #13 was converted to a one-man tram by adopting the SECV Ballarat Tramways one-man configuration.
Arrival of 2 additional maximum traction cars from Melbourne and 4 Birney cars from the SECV Geelong Tramways. These six cars replaced the six scrapped ESCV one-man cars. |

#22 arrived from Melbourne in 1936. This was a straight sill, combination tram with semi-enclosed end platforms. The straight sill meant that the tram steps were higher than on other cars and as a consequence this tram was unpopular with tram crews and the travelling public and thus saw little use through-out its time at Bendigo.
1942 - Due to the need for an additional car to operate the extension from Lake Weeroona to North Bendigo in 1942, #15 was converted to the ESCV one-man configuration. |

1903 and 1904 cars 2-4, 6-7, 10, 13-14 and 16 were scrapped with the arrival of replacement California combination cars from the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board (M&MTB) between 1930 and 1935.
The first of the ex M&MTB cars to arrive in Bendigo was allocated the road number 19 and altered for one-man operation.
30th June 1934 - the State Electricity Commission of Victoria (SECV) took over operation of the Bendigo Tramways from the ESCV.

Wednesday 15th April 1903 - the Electric Supply Company of Victoria began operating electric trams in regular service.
All cars were built new for the opening of the Electric Supply Company of Victoria (ESCV), Bendigo Tramways. These cars were built to the single truck straight sill combination configuration.
At busy times such as Easter in order to increase loading capacity, these trams would tow ex-Ballarat double-deck horse trams and former single truck steam tram trailers. The former steam tram double truck trailers remained at the depot in storage.
