The Talking Tram Tour runs over a 4.2 kilometre route - 8.4 kms round trip - every day (except Christmas Day) to a regular timetable with the tour commencing at the Central Deborah Gold Mine. You can also join the Talking Tram Tour at any one of the other tram stops.
For passengers wishing to board the Vintage Talking Tram Tour in the heart of Bendigo, the stop is located at the Alexandra Fountain in the Central Business District.
V/line passengers will discover that the Alexandra Fountain stop is a 10 minute walk from the Bendigo Railway Station, west along Mitchell Street. A V/Line timetable for trains to Bendigo can be obtain from the V/Line website.
The Vintage Talking Tram transfers visitors from the Alexandra Fountain stop, to the Central Deborah Gold Mine, the Tram Museum, Lake Weeroona or the Chinese Joss House.
The Talking Tram Tour
departs the various tram stops on a regular timetable and includes:A Vintage Talking Tram Tour along Bendigo's heritage streetscape.
An audio commentary about Bendigo's history and historic buildings.
A link between the Central Deborah Gold Mine, the Central City shopping district, the Tram Museum, Lake Weeroona and the Chinese Joss House at North Bendigo.
A visit to Australias oldest operating tram depot.
A guided tour of the tram museum.
A ticket which is valid for use on the Talking Trams for two (2) consecutive days - ride as much as you like.
Opportunities to break the tour and get off the tram to visit other places of interest.

Bendigo's Vintage Talking Tram Tour operates to a regular timetable throughout the year. Timetables are scheduled to accommodate visitors during the peak holiday periods as well. For details regarding the timetable in operation during your visit to Bendigo, visit the Timetables page.
Disabled Access to the Vintage Talking Trams is available. Visitors are invited to provide advance notice of their visit to the Vintage Talking Tram. The Tram Museum - located at Australia's oldest operating tram depot - is open 7 days per week, 364 days per year (closed Christmas Day). Visits to the Tram Museum are included as part of the Talking Tram Tour. Visitors are welcome to start their Talking Tram Tour at the Tram Museum and stroll around the complex at their leisure. Before you commence your Talking Tram Tour, or when you return, visit the Central Deborah Gold Mine and experience its underground tours and magnificent displays relating to the history of gold mining in Bendigo.
The Central Deborah Gold Mine is still being worked today - underneath the surface of the city, as people go about their daily lives, miners are drilling for and still finding gold. Pop on your hard hat with its miners light and take a leisurely stroll on Level 2 of the mine to learn about the fascinating history of gold mining in Bendigo. Yes you will be able to see gold in the quartz reef on the mine's tunnels. Central Deborah is the real thing!
